Who shares an instance
When you are in a party with at least one other player, you and your party share one copy of each zone you fight in. You see the same enemies, the same loot on the ground and each other's positions. When one of you defeats an enemy, it is gone for everyone.
A solo player, or a party of one, keeps a private copy of every zone, exactly as before.
Your hideout, the trophy room, the star map, the starter zone, the training grounds, towns and the endgame rifts and sieges stay private even in a party.
Turn model in voice
There is no turn order to wait for. Every time you speak, you take your own turn in the shared zone: you move, attack or loot, and the enemies near you answer you. Your allies do the same whenever they speak. Nobody ever waits for anybody else.
What a member hears about the others
When an ally defeats an enemy near you, you hear about it at the start of your next turn, together with your share of the spoils: for example, "Brakka defeated the Ghoul. Your share of the spoils is at your feet."
When an ally falls or is revived, your party hears it in party chat.
Spoils: who gets a share, and the split
Every party member within ten squares of a kill, and present in the zone, gets a full share of their own: their own experience for their own level, and their own roll for gold, potion essence, soul shards, runes and items. Nothing is divided, and nobody's share is taken from anyone else's.
A member who is farther away than ten squares, or who has not taken a turn in the zone for five minutes, gets no share of that kill.
The party-size bonus
Fighting together pays more. Each kill pays a bonus on its gold, experience, item drop chance and rare item chance, and the bonus grows with the number of party members who share in it, up to a full party of four. The amounts are in seasons.md ยง Multiplayer Rewards.
The bonus is paid on what you earn from defeating enemies. It is not paid on quest rewards, purchases or anything you buy.
Down and resurrect
In a shared zone, when you fall and an ally is in the zone with you, you are downed instead of sent home. Your party hears that you are down. An ally who stands on your square can say "resurrect" and your name, and on your next turn you rise with just over a third of your health. You can stop waiting at any time by saying "return to hideout".
If no ally is in the zone with you, you return to your hideout at once, the same as a solo death.
